2022.8.10.0 - fixed MIDI CC on knobs

It was brought to my attemtion that the MIDI CC assignments to knobs were no longer working. This got lost while making MIDI a bit less jittery a good while ago … anyway, it is back now, thank you Adis for mentioning this!

The other changes are :

  • Made Mono/Stereo indication on wave players.
  • Fixed MIDI TX LED.
  • Fixed convolver bug on LFO rate changes, it would complain about FFTW not being present (while it was there alright).

Published as 2022.8.10.0 for all installation types.

This can be installed from a recent Wren version - or alternatively download the installer (see the wiki for more info on updating or installing Wren).

    Hello there,

Thank you for this wonderful piece of software. This synth truly is amazing. Unfortunately, using the most recent installer (2022.8.10.0) I am receiving errors for .dll’s missing for a number of modules, including the FFTW even though they are all present in the wren folder. I have tried installing in the default C:\bin\wren as well as other non-Windows controlled folders but still receive the errors. Please advise, and thank you again!

Oh .. I had not seen this … sorry, was too busy patching I guess ;’)

Can you say what modules are causing the / an error, and also maybe what DLL’s are not found .. I thought I had fixed a DLL issue . and not seeing issues myself … so I’ll need some help here!

    Hell jan,

Thank you for the reply. It was the FFT and r8 DLL’s that were causing the problem. I was able to get around it by copying/pasting them into the C:/Windows folder, however, I was only able to successfully launch the program once. Every time I tried to run Wren after that, it would go through the loading process and then simply close. Not sure what might be causing that issue, but any insight you have is greatly appreciated. Hope all is well.

    Thank you!

    Hi John,

I can not reproduce the issue here .. what I did is … I’ve made a new release 2022.9.22.0 … please try that one so at least we willh ave the exact same software. ..

In case this version does not work for you I would like to see the contents of the file wren.log (from the same folder as where wren.exe is) - the last couple of lines may be sufficient and could be pasted here .. to know where it crashes ..

BTW, your Procedural Audio things on YouTube are quite nice!

    Hello jan,

Thank you so much for the quick attention to my issues - and for the kinds words! It seems to have something to do with loading the last patch that was in use. Once I un-checked that setting, I no longer experienced the program closing on startup. Everything else appears to be working great!

Thanks again - I am excited to check out your patches!
